The Friends and their aims
The Friends of St. Georges Hall was launched
on St. George's Day, 23rd April 2002, with the following aims and objectives:
" To promote and encourage, for the benefit of thr public,
the improvement, protection and presevation of
St. George's Hall,
Liverpool"
St. Georges Hall was reopened on the 23rd April 2007, by His Royal Highness
Prince Charles after a 23million refurbishment.
The refurbushment programme of the Hall has improved access and re-opened
areas closed for many years including the small Concert Room.
The restoration has provided an outstanding setting for a variety of activities
and has made possible much greater use by the public of what is one of the finest neo-classic buildings in Europe.
The Friends group aims to encourage the public to make full use of the
improved facilities and hence play a part in the future of the hall and in the cultural life of the city.
